HempFusion is one of a line of brands developed by company founders which includes not only HempFusion, but also Probulin Probiotics, Biome Research, and HF Labs. The company’s products are sold by approximately 4,000 retailers in all 50 U.S. states as well as select international locations. HempFusion’s diverse hemp CBD product portfolio includes CBD tinctures, capsules, and topicals.
HempFusion Founders
HempFusion was founded by Dr. Jason Mitchell, N.D. Dr. Mitchell has been formulating nutritional health products for humans since graduating college and has built one of today’s leading vitamin companies. As such he has developed and launched more than herbal supplement formulas. Dr. Mitchell is a Naturopathic Doctor board certified by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board. He is also a member of the US Hemp Roundtable.
Co-founder, Ian Dequeiroz is a “highly motivated ethical entrepreneur.” He is experienced in early-stage startups of high-growth companies as well as raising capital and strategic planning. HempFusion is Ian’s fourth successful startup. In 2012, Ian acquired the first cannabis CO2 extraction company in the US.
Between them, Dr. Mitchell and Mr. Dequeiroz boast decades of research and have launched hundreds of successful health-supporting products.
HempFusion Hemp Farming Practices
HempFusion’s CBD is derived from hemp grown exclusively in Europe.
According to the website, the company is committed to USDA Certified Organic farming practices. Their non-GMO hemp is DNA validated as European Agricultural hemp and is grown without the use of pesticides and herbicides.
Extraction Method
HempFusion’s hemp extract is created using a proprietary method of solvent-free C02 extraction called HOPE (HempOnePassExtraction™). This process yields a more diverse and better quality hemp extract that is rich in CBD and also contains other active cannabinoids.
Manufacturing and Testing Practices
All HempFusion products are manufactured in FDA-registered, ISO 9001 certified, and GMP compliant (current good manufacturing practices).
All ingredients in their formulas including CBD oil and other herbal extracts are tested to confirm Identification as well as for microbiological safety, heavy metals, pesticides, and herbicides, including glyphosate, as well as residual solvents.
All HempFusion products are tested in an independent, ISO-certified lab. This process produces an accurate cannabinoid and terpene profiles, while assuring the products are free of residual solvents, herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals, and microbial contaminants.

Aging Beauty Cream
HempFusion’s Aging Beauty Cream contains powerful enzymes derived from French melon extract. These enzymes help to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It is also rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that mimic those in the outer layer of skin.
Aging Beauty Cream is a topical product developed generally for use on the face and neck but can be used elsewhere to nourish the skin.
This product has a pleasant scent that’s not too perfumy. Better for nighttime use. I found that it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving skin oily or greasy. In fact, it actually feels quite luxurious.
I looked up French melon extract. Interestingly, in addition to offering powerful antioxidant properties, it apparently also reduces stress and fatigue, according to one study1. In addition to providing superior antioxidant enzymes, this supplement is associated with improved sleep and reduced irritability.
When applied to the face, Aging Beauty instantly makes skin feel younger. With repeated use, I can see how this product might keep skin looking young and healthy. Although it’s meant to be used on the face, personally, I found that it instantly relieved dry itchy, dry skin on my arms and legs as well. This product is gentle enough for daily use and I really can’t find anything negative to say about it.

Sports Pain Relief Balm
HempFusion offers several topical balms including Sports Pain Relief Balm. This product is formulated to relieve aches, pains, and sore muscles that come with workouts or any strenuous activity. In addition to containing broad-spectrum, CBD-rich hemp extract, this product also contains aloe vera and botanical terpenes.
This Sports Pain Relief product arrived just in time to help me sleep. No, it’s not designed to help people sleep — there’s another product for that which we’ll get to in a moment. However, what it did do was ease some shoulder pain that has been making it difficult for me to fall asleep at bedtime.
This product doesn’t have an overwhelming hemp aroma nor a strong menthol smell even though it contains 4% menthol. The scent is very tolerable. Menthol is known to help pain-relieving compounds to penetrate deep into the skin as well as to increase blood flow to the area in which it is applied. Moreover, aloe vera helps to keep the skin healthy and moisturized.
The one downside I found with this product is that it was slightly grainy and left a sand-like residue on my skin. However, that seemed to melt away in short order.

Energy Support Capsules
HempFusion’s Energy Support capsules came to me in a package of 12individual pouches. However, it’s also offered in a 60-count bottle — a one-month supply.
These gelatin capsules are formulated with broad-spectrum CBD, guayusa, ginseng, and ginger, plus plant-based omegas and terpenes. These adaptogens offer an energy boost throughout the day. The product is also antioxidant-rich to promote ongoing health.
Two capsules contain 3 milligrams of CBD, 3 milligrams of terpenes, and 354 milligrams of other plant-based adaptogens. This is great because many companies that offer so-called “energy-boosting” CBD products contain too much CBD and can cause unwanted effects such as lethargy and drowsiness.
In addition to boosting energy, the ginseng in this product can also help to increase wakefulness and focus. Guayusa is a species of holly that is native to the Amazon Rainforest. It’s one of three caffeinated holly trees. The leaves of the tree are often used to make an energy-boosting tea.
Moreover, there is evidence that ginger extract can help enhance brain function. In one study2 daily doses of ginger extract were shown to improve reaction time and working memory. And several animal studies3 suggest ginger can help protect against age-related decline in brain function.
Again, I can find nothing negative to add to this product review.

Stress Support Capsules
HempFusion’s Stress Support capsules came in a 30-count bottle — a one-month supply at the recommended dose of one per day.
The formula blends full-spectrum, CBD-rich hemp extract plus targeted terpenes and an adaptogen called ashwagandha which has been used for over 4,000 years to help tame stress. Two gelcaps contain 10 milligrams of CBD.
Ashwagandha helps boost brain function, lower blood sugar and cortisol levels, and help fight symptoms of anxiety and depression. One study4 on the efficacy of Ashwagandha in reducing stress and anxiety showed that subjects given Ashwagandha root extract exhibited a significant reduction in scores on all the stress-assessment scales. In another study5 subjects who took ashwagandha daily reported significant improvements in their reaction time and task performance.
Although I’m a pretty stress-free person, I gave this product a try. I can say with certainty that it did help make me even more chill than I usually am. Nothing negative to say about this product.

Sleep Support Capsules
HempFusion’s Sleep Support CBD capsules combine GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) with the company’s proprietary full-spectrum, CBD-rich hemp extract.
I had to Google GABA. According to Wikipedia, gamma-Aminobutyric acid, or γ-aminobutyric acid, is an inhibitory neurotransmitter the role of which is to reduce “neuronal excitability throughout the nervous system.” In layman’s terms, this means it helps you chill so you can sleep. Low levels of GABA are associated with anxiety and mood disorders, epilepsy, and chronic pain. GABA is also great for those who work out on a regular basis as it helps to lower blood pressure, burn fat, and build muscle. Be sure to stick to the recommended dosage or one capsule per day as GABA might have unwanted side effects in some users if taken in larger amounts.
I gave this product a try as well and definitely got a good night’s sleep. No complaints about this product.

Overall Impression of HempFusion
HempFusion seems to be the real deal when it comes to health supplements. The founders are highly respected in the life sciences field and they seem to want to keep it that way by providing high-quality, third-party tested CBD products.
HempFusion products are formulated with not just full-spectrum CBD-rich hemp extract (as with many CBD companies) but also high-quality plant-based adaptogens, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds to target specific needs.
